Ron Sackheim, 80, who with his father, Norman Sackheim, founded XL Screw Corporation in 1968, died December 6, 2021.

He retired as XL Screw president in 2002 and in 2005 the company was sold to his cousin, Bob Sachs.

Sackheim’s grandfather, Ben Sackheim, founded Stronghold Screw Products in the 1930s.

He was inducted in the Chicago Bolt, Nut & Screw Association Hall of Fame and in 2001 to the International Fastener Expo Hall of Fame.

Survivors include spouse Kathy; daughters Karen, Lisa and Nina; and seven grandchildren.
