Orbitform Acquires Milford Fastening Systems

Jason Sandefur

Orbitform Group acquired Milford Fastening Systems, a 100-year-old impact riveting machine manufacturer in Milford, CT. Orbitform will relocate Milford Fastening under new management, but will continue to produce pneumatic, bench-top, pedestal, and fixed center riveters, along with contact setters and assembly systems. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition allows Orbitform to reunite Milford with its former cold-heading division. Milford was bought by Industrial Holdings in 1995 and split into Milford Rivet and cold headed products producer Ideal Products. Industrial Holding also bought Orbitform in 1997.
Then in 2001, Industrial Holdings reorganized and sold off many of their manufacturing operations, including Orbitform, which purchased Ideal Products at that time.
For all intents and purposes, Milford is back in its original state – with rivet machines and cold-heading operations both part of the same corporate structure, announced Orbitform.

Jackson, MI-based Orbitform Group consists of Orbitform(cold-forming orbital riveting machines); Rollerform (roller-forming machines); Thernuform (heat-staking fastening equipment); Adtech (impact riveting machines); WatchDawg (process monitoring and control equipment); and Arbor Automation (palletized conveyor systems).
