Patent Granted for TZ ‘Intelligent Fasteners’

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a patent to Chicago-based TZ Inc. for the company”s “intelligent fastener” design. The company said the patent “constitutes a major milestone in the intellectual property portfolio.”
U.S. Patent number 7,217,059, titled “Fixing and Release Systems,” is based on TZ”s earliest filed patent application involving remote fastening.
“This patent is a cornerstone of our Intelligent Fastening IP portfolio and reinforces our unique competitive position in Intelligent Fastening,” claimed CEO David Feber. “Granting of this patent in the U.S. will help assure a sustained competitive advantage as TZ”s Intevia technology penetrates the USD$ 50 billion global fastener market.”
