ScrewCrew.com was relaunched as a “fun diversion” for the fastener industry. With the motto, “Functional Fun for Fastener Freaks,” founder Andy Pels wants the website to provide information and entertainment.
“We’re finally seeing the fastener industry getting out there on the Internet, not just for line card websites, but for general industry information and even a bit of fastener-related fun,” Pels said. “Being in the fastener business since 1985, I have seen that even with how important our products and services are to industry, we’ve never taken ourselves too seriously. With all of the corny screw and nut related jokes out there, how can you?”
Pels wants ScrewCrew.com to provide links to accessible fastener specs and general industry information. It includes links for fastener websites, fastener-related video links, optical illusions, photos, products and even games like “Screw-Tac-Toe”.
Pels designed a fastener t-shirt that is available on CafePress.com
“Everything on the site has something to do with fasteners, so if you’re in the industry, your boss shouldn’t have a problem with a little browsing on our site.” Pels joked.
Pels is soliciting suggestions and comments to “help us keep the site fresh, useful and entertaining.” E-mail: andypels@screwcrew.com
