PennEngineering announced it won a $14 million judgment and permanent injunction against Dongguan Fenggang Pinconn Hardware for counterfeiting and infringement of a dozen patents and trademarks.
Guangdong, China-based Pinconn is permanently restrained from selling the infringing products and being ordered to remove the infringing content from its website. The final order has been recorded with Customs to prevent importation to the U.S. of Pinconn products.
The original complaint was filed against Pinconn on October 13, 2017, in response to Pinconn’s scheduled appearance at the International Fasteners Expo in Las Vegas. PennEngineering enforced a preliminary injunction order issued by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, resulting in the removal of all of Pinconn’s signage, advertising materials, and infringing product at its trade show booth.
The preliminary injunction also forced Pinconn to abandon its booth at the 2017 Design & Manufacturing Expo in Minneapolis.

Pinconn manufactures fasteners, indexing, ball, spring and hand retractable plungers, side thrust pins and quick release pins.
Pinconn reports it has 80 sets of production equipments, including 29 automatic lathes, eight CNC lathes, five thread rolling machines, two CNC lathes, 10 instrument lathes, 27 drilling machines, nine heading machine and nine thread rolling machines, testing equipment, salt spray testing machine, projector, hydrogen tester, thrust / torque tester and microhardness meter.
Pinconn has 70 employees, including technicians, senior engineers, professional and technical workers, quality assurance personnel. Its plant totals 3,000 square meters.
