Portland Bolt Launches Shear Plate Website

Portland Bolt & Manufacturing Company launched ShearPlates.com as a technical resource for engineers, architects, contractors, laminators and fastener distributors. Shear plates have been used extensively for over 80 years to increase the strength of wooden structures.
A shear plate installation video covers common installation questions. The website also provides information about installation tools and other common timber connectors including split rings and spike grids.
“We’re excited to release this new micro site,” general manager Greg Lindsay said. “We see a need in the industry to provide more education regarding shear plates and felt a stand-alone site would accomplish this more effectively than burying the information on our main website, portlandbolt.com.”
Portland Bolt is marking its 100th anniversary during 2012.
