Powers Fasteners Expands Footprint in Asia
Powers Fasteners has established offices and warehouse facilities in Mumbai, India, with additional warehouses in Delhi, Contractor Supply reports.
“Our new operations in India will give local contractors and engineers the local support needed to help continue the growth in the region,” stated president Jeffery Powers.
Powers Fasteners named Ajay Kulkarni as managing director and Sumit Bhattacharya as chairman.
Kulkarni reportedly has 15 years experience with AEG Power Tools, as well as managing a private distributorship specializing in electric tools, concrete anchors and fasteners.
Bhattacharya, who holds an engineering degree, was managing director of Proctor & Gamble India.
Powers has also recently opened a Shanghai office under the direction of Jake Olsen to focus on China’s growing transportation industry. The facility’s staff includes three engineers.
“We are committed to expanding to tap this huge market,” marketing VP Lenny Colasuonno stated in Concrete Evidence, the company’s newsletter.
In addition to distribution, the Shanghai office is focused on quality control and product testing.
Brewster, NY-based Powers Fasteners supplies mechanical and adhesive anchoring systems, roofing fasteners and other products to the construction and plant maintenance markets.
