Powers Fasteners Laying Off 35 Workers

Stanley Black & Decker’s Powers Fasteners division will lay off 35 workers at its plant in Brewster, NY, the Journal News reports.

A notice filed with the state Department of Labor said the layoffs will begin July 18 through August. Powers Fasteners reportedly is transferring the lost jobs to its other locations.

Powers Fasteners employs 150 workers at its Brewster plant to manufacture concrete and masonry anchors and fastening systems.

Founded in 1921, Powers Fasteners was acquired by Stanley Black & Decker’s Commercial Do-It-Yourself North American division in 2012. ©2014 GlobalFastenerNews.com
