Powers Fasteners Sues ITW for Alleged Patent Infringement

Powers Fasteners Inc. sued Illinois Tool Works for alleged patent infringement on the Powers Wall Dog, Powers president Jeffrey Reid Powers announced.\
Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the suit alleges infringement of Powers” U.S. Patent No. 7,040,850. Powers has requested a permanent injunction and damages for ITW”s sale of EZ-EST anchors.
Wall Dog anchors, introduced in 2004, are one-piece fasteners for anchoring into wallboard. Typical applications include lightweight fixtures, mirrors, picture frames, bathroom accessories, shelving, drapery supports and electrical, telephone and cable accessories.
