Report: Jiaxing Fastener Exports Climb

Jiaxing fastener exports rose 42.8% to $208.2 million in the opening quarter of 2011, China’s Jiaxing Fasteners Import & Export Manufacturers Association reported. Imports rose 10.2% to $5.86 million.
Europe and the U.S. were the main importers, with fasteners shipments accounting for 42.3% of the total amount to $88.05 million, according to ChinaFastener.Info. Exports to the U.S. soared 51% to $41 million, while products shipped to the EU climbed 46% to $47 million.
Fastener exports to Japan surged 41% to $7.31 million.
“Exports to Japan in March saw a sharp increase of 68.79% to $3 million. This can be seen that Jiaxing fastener exporting companies haven’t felt the impact of Japan earthquake.”
Steel and iron fastener exports continue to rise, with shipments increasing 42.6% to RMB 207.09 million, ChinaFastener.Info reported. The average price was $1,322/ton, up 22% compared with $1,083/ton in 2010. ©2011 GlobalFastenerNews.com
