Rotor Clip Book Promotes Manufacturing Careers
Rotor Clip released an eBook detailing the company’s history and that of its founder, Robert Slass.
“From Eisenhower’s approval of a super highway system to connect the country (and stimulate the economy during a rather nasty recession) in the 1950’s to the push to expand globally, the book traces Rotor Clip’s route to becoming a successful manufacturer in the retaining ring industry,” the company stated in a press release.
The 74-page publication documents Slass’ founding of the business in 1957 in Farmingdale, NY, where he designed and built the dies, repaired broken down machinery, and produced and shipped parts.
“He was also his company’s sole salesman, driving around the country (often sleeping in his car and shaving in public rest rooms) introducing Rotor Clip to industrial America.”
“Still Made in America — The Story of Robert Slass and his Contribution to US Manufacturing” also urges young people to consider manufacturing as a career. Included are descriptions of numerous U.S. manufacturing careers ranging from technical positions to standard jobs you would find in any business (sales, marketing, customer service, accounting and purchasing).
While the eBook is free, Rotor Clip suggests an optional donation to three scholarship award programs sponsored by the Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE).
The book is available for download at www.rotorclip.com/ebook.
