Rotor Clip Honored as Company of the Year
Rotor Clip Company Inc. will be honored as Company of the Year for Franklin Township, New Jersey, at an awards dinner April 1, 2011, with Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno.
Founded in 1957 by Robert Slass in a 2,000 sq ft building in Farmingdale, NY, Rotor Clip moved to the Bronx, NY in the early 1960s and then to Somerset, NJ in 1972. Today Rotor Clip manufactures retaining rings, wave springs and hose clamps at a 238,000 sq ft facility on 62 acres plus has operations in Sheffield, England and sales offices in Germany.
Rotor Clip’s retaining rings are used in ABS brakes, air conditioning compressors, steering and braking systems for automobiles; lawn mowers, computer peripherals, electric motors, disk drives, paper shredders, washing machines, door knobs and lock assemblies.
In addition to employing 275 people and manufacturing retaining rings for domestic and export use, Rotor Clip was cited for support of local education, food bank, 4-H and other programs.
Two sons of the founder, Jonathan Slass and Craig Slass, are active in the business today.
