Russian Plant Resumes Fastener Production

The Ural Plant of Precision Alloys has resumed manufacturing fasteners more than a year after suspending production due to decline in sales.

UZPS plans to increase production to 200 tons per month, Fastener + Fixing reported.

The plant has capacity to produce up to 700 tons of screws and self-tapping screws.

UZPS is improving the quality of fasteners as Nizhneserginskly Metiz & Metallurgic Plant are producing a new type of steel.

UZPS opened in 1976 in the Ural to make precision alloys for defense, space, electronic and medical industries.

In 1995 the plant was award the “Torch of Birmingham” international prize for surviving the social and economic crisis.
