Ship & Shore Environmental Inc. announced an engineering mentorship program for students pursuing careers in the engineering, environmental, or other STEM-related fields. The program seeks to raise environmental awareness, educate youth about pollution control technologies and provide practical experience.
“Mentoring our youth and sharing best practices with local academia is important to us,” CEO Anoosheh Oskouian said. “By opening our doors to leading local academic institutions like UC Irvine, Cal Poly Pomona, and local high schools, we are facilitating a mutual mentorship scenario. Students and faculty should consider Ship & Shore a second home, and a place where they can learn from top engineers how we design, engineer, and fabricate the latest pollution abatement technology to help clients reduce their carbon footprint.”
Cal Poly Pomona engineering professor Paul Nissenson said the highlight of a course on formation of air pollutants and control strategies is a field trip to Ship & Shore where students can see air pollution control equipment to reinforce concepts learned in the classroom.
Founded in 2000, Ship & Shore is a woman-owned, certified business specializing in air pollution capture and control systems for industrial applications, helping manufacturers meet Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) abatement challenges.
