� Barton Cold-Form Ltd. nearly doubled its turnover to �6.8 million (US$7.55 million) since 2000, according to Newsquest Media Group. The U.K. manufacturer of special cold forged fasteners achieved the gain through capital investment of more than �2 million to purchase new equipment. One new piece of equipment is a multi-die heading machine that produces 180 pieces per minute.
Managing director Paul Denning told Newsquest that his firm has done well in a weak economy by expanding staff and services.

� Bossard Metric Inc. is restructuring its operating business unit that handles master distribution, Bossard program/design specialist Malissa Lima announced. BMI seeks to reduce �hidden� transaction costs related to the quote, order and receiving process, as well as reduce response times on quotes, improve inventory levels to over $1 million, and boost customer trust.
