� Fastener industry veteran Jim Taylor launched a new importing/master distributorship company, East-West Logistics LLC.
Taylor was with fastener manufacturer Semblex for 25 years before founding Integrated Material Systems in 1998. IMS was acquired by Questron Technologies, which in turn was acquired by GE Supply Logistics after Questron went into bankruptcy. Taylor left GE at the end of June to start East-West.
East-West imports fasteners and other engineered products, including screw machine parts, metal stampings, plastic parts and assemblies from Far East countries of Taiwan, China, Korea, Malaysia and Japan.

� Emhart Teknologies acquired the licensing business of Refac Technologies LLC in Edgewater, NJ, Emhart president Paul Gustafson announced. The purchase is intended to unify Emhart�s product lines and procure exclusive ownership & worldwide licensing rights to its key fastener product brands, including Heli-Coil and Dodge. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Gustafson also appointed Greg Wind as global marketing manager for Heli-Coil and Dodge.
Mark Theisen was named Americas vice president of sales & marketing for the Emhart automotive division based in Chesterfield Township, MI, automotive president Michael Tyll announced.
