” Kathy Malkemes and Susan Davis dissolved their rep agency, Fastener Sales Unlimited, as of March 31. They founded the agency in 2000.
Malkemes opened Associated Fastener Group on April 1 and is now based out of Dallas with Cindy Summers based in Houston. Malkemes started in the fastener industry in 1980 with Supply House, joined Alloy & Stainless Fasteners in 1982 and Big H Corp. in 1986. Summers started in fasteners in 1978 with Brighton-Best.

Davis has opened Southwest Distributor Sales to serve distributors in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Davis started in the fastener business in 1988 at American Socket in inside sales and has been manufacturers rep in the Dallas area for 15 years. Davis also has sold cutting tools, including drills, taps and dies. A Houston based associate will join SDS in August. Both have been active in the Southwestern Fastener Association. Malkemes was president in 1994 and twice has been interim executive director. Davis was SFA president in 1999.
