Ellison Technologies announced executive changes and a new ownership mix as the culmination of a two-year transition plan. Founding partners Don Bendix, Klaus Rindt and Len Atkins retired. Ellison executives Tim Kilty, Graham Hooper and Kent Lorenz assumed executive committee responsibilities. The fourth founding partner, Jim Ellison, remains chairman and CEO.
Ellison is incorporating new partners Mitsui USA and Mori Seiki into its ownership structure. Mitsui USA is a trading and investment firm with 100 subsidiaries and affiliated companies across the manufacturing, research and financial sectors. Ellison is a distributor for machine tool systems developer Mori Seiki.
Mori Seiki allows Ellison to offer a wider range of services, increase engineering investment and support the customer base, Jim Ellison explained. Ellison provides Mitsui new supply and distribution channels while Mitsui”s financial strength will support Ellison”s aggressive growth strategy.

Vertex president Mark Alperin announced the company has expanded its steel, aluminum and stainless steel rivet lines and is now stocking in all nine of its facilities. Vertex also has added a line of backup washers for its rivets. “The pairing of our blind rivet offerings with our more than 12,000 other standard inch and metric products has proved extremely successful,” Alperin explained.
