Chandler dates its history to 1913 when Frederick Chandler started an automobile company. After selling Chandler automobiles through the 1920s, the company was sold to Hupp Motor Co. and in 1930 Chandler was commissioned to manufacture bolts for Hupp. A Chandler Six touring sedan is displayed in the current headquarters.

McIlhon started in the fastener industry 30 years ago with his father, Dan McIlhon, and brother, Ed McIlhon, at Iowa Industrial Products. When IIP was sold to Bossard in 1999, McIlhon became head of sales and was promoted to president in 2004. McIlhon was the 1999-2000 president of the National Fastener Distributors Association.
Porteous also announced two more Midwest changes: Brian Flynn will move from the New Jersey branch to be Midwest area sales manager, and Andrew Nagy from Cleveland has been promoted to regional operations manager.
Porteous will move to a newly constructed 90,000 sq ft pre-cast building with wire-guided narrow aisles for efficiency. The new warehouse is double the size of the current Elk Grove Village facility and has a 50 million pound capacity of bulk and packaged fasteners.

” Rechitsa Hardware Plant launched production of self-tapping screws with the first 200 tons being shipped to Russia, general director Adam Vashkov announced. The expansion into self-tapping screws is part of a $7.3 billion plant investment.
The Republic of Belarus company is a division of Belarusian Metallurgical. Rechitsa is best known for nails, but also manufactures bolts, screws, nuts, rivets, wood screws and wire. Currently 85% of production is exported to European countries. The Eastern European country of Belarus is located between Russia and Poland.
Since 1999, Rechitsa export sales have grown from $3 million to $30 million.
