” Vegas Fastener Mfg., appointed 16-year fastener veteran Larry King as quality manager.
King, a certified quality engineer and certified quality auditor, was a quality engineer and supplier manager at Fairchild Fasteners, which became Alcoa Fastening Systems. He has Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Vegas Fastener moved into a new 100,000 sq ft master-planned building housing all operations under one roof at the end of 2003. The space for the testing lab, tool and dye department, manufacturing space and storage tripled in the new building. The plant features natural lighting, tall ceilings, smog eaters and bay doors for an airy environment.
“Our new facility has allowed us to double our production capacity, expand our metallurgical lab and tool & die departments,” co-owner Ed Cebulko noted. “Product flow is more efficient which has lead to shorter lead times.”
Richard Lassiter, Jim Foytik and Cebulko are co-owners. Lassiter founded Nevada Nut & Bolt which was later named Non-Ferrous Bolt & Mfg. Cebulko was a partner in NFBM and Foytik plant manager. Non-Ferrous was acquired by SPS Technologies in 1998. Foytik left to start Vegas Fastener Mfg. in 1998 and Lassiter and Cebulko later joined as co-owners. SPS close its Las Vegas facility in 2000 and numerous staff joined Vegas, including Kevin Hartman, now VFM sales manager.
VFM is currently using nearly two thirds of the facility and can put up to 30,000 more sq ft into production or for raw material and finished product stocking as sales grow.
