Würth Group of Germany appointed Marc Strandquist executive vice president of Würth Industry of North America. The appointment is part of reorganization of WINA management structure.

Strandquist will be responsible for the six industry companies in North America: Würth Action (Riviera Beach, Fla.), Würth Adams (Maple Grove, Minn.), Würth Revcar (Roanoke, Va.), Würth Service Supply (Indianapolis, Ind.), Würth Snider (Louisville, Ky.), and Marine Fasteners (Sanford, Fla.).

The companies work collectively to provide inventory management OEMs through proprietary service brand, CPS® C-Parts Solutions.

WINA reported $313 million in sales for 2012 with 850 employees.

Strandquist has been CEO for Würth Snider and Würth Service Supply and is the current executive vice president for the hot forming companies of the Würth Group: Dokka Fasteners AS (Dokka, Norway), Dokka Fasteners Inc. (Auburn Hills, Mich.), and Cardinal Fastener (Cleveland, Ohio).

In six years with Würth Service Supply, he implemented new training and management techniques to increase sales from $45 million to $168 million. In 2010 he was a part of the founding team that built Dokka Fasteners Inc. in North America from the ground up. Strandquist will continue his hot forming executive role.

Würth Service Supply also announced it moved its Rock Island, Ill. branch to allow better management of inventory, while remaining in close proximity to current customers.

While both the previous building and the new facility are comparable in size at 12,000 sq ft, the new layout allows better workflow. “The difference between the two locations is that the old building was built as a multi-tenant building with dividing walls and low ceilings,” business manager Lance Boeken explained.

The new warehouse has new higher racks for more inventory plus increased productivity for lift trucks and pickers. The branch has seven employees and is the home branch for key account managers handling agricultural machinery and construction equipment.

Now located in Moline, Ill., near I-74, the new facility is 11 miles from the previous location. All employees remain with the branch.

Würth Group consists of more than 400 companies in over 80 countries with more than 65,000 employees – including 30,000 in sales roles. The Würth Group generated EUR 9.98 billion (US$13.1 billion) in sales in 2012. Web: wurthindustry.com ©2013 GlobalFastenerNews.com
