Mike Mowins is president/owner of Vetted Tech Inc., according to his LinkedIn account.
Vetted Tech is a service disabled veteran owned small business doing additive manufacturing of metal and polymer components for the medical, automotive, DoD, DoE and aerospace markets.
Mowins, who is Division II / Aerospace Products Division manager for the Industrial Fasteners Institute, has owned Vetted Tech since December 2019.
Mowins retired in May 2019 from the Phillips Screw Company after 31 years. He has been active in the IFI for 25 years and his roles included being a board member and chair of the Associate Supplier Division.
Mowins’ fastener career started in 1988 when he became vice president for commercial products at Phillips.

NEFCO Corporation opened a branch in Orlando. The branch is headed by sales manager George Johnson and Rob Reiner.
Johnson has 30-years experience in construction supply, including 12 with NEFCO. Reiner is the previous owner of Tekk Supply, which NEFCO acquired in 2017. Reiner has 44 years experience in the fastener and power tool industry.

Optimas Solutions appointed three industry executives to the company’s leadership team.
Marc Strandquist was named President of the Americas. He has over 30 years of experience. Strandquist started in the fastener industry in 1986 with Rockford Products. He was with Würth from 2001 to 2019, where he served as executive VP of the Würth Group and CEO of Würth Industry North America. He also worked for GenFast Mfg., and was president of the National Fastener Distributors Association from 2016-17.
Mike Tuffy was named President of International, leading Optimas across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. He has over 30 years of fastener industry experience, including as executive VP of EMEA for Optimas. He was also a key member of the acquisition team that carved Optimas out of Anixter in 2015.
Kate Daly was named senior VP of Global Human Resources. Daly brings over 25 years of leadership experience to Optimas, having previously worked for such businesses as DSC Logistics, D&W Fine Pack and PSAV Presentation Services.

Phillips Screw Co. promoted Scott Filion to CEO, succeeding Ken Hurley, who will transition to board chair.
Hurley said Filion has already developed a strategic growth plan for Phillips.
Filion has 30 years of industry experience and joined Phillips a year ago as president. He holds a bachelors in mechanical engineering and an MBA from the University of New Hampshire. He was with Velcro USA Inc. for 20 years.
Filion started his career in engineering developing automotive products and processes. He holds 22 patents.
