Ray Zirkle and Doug Zirkle of BZ Sales will represent the National Industrial Fastener Show/West worldwide selling booth space in the machinery, tooling and mill supply section of the traditionally distribution-oriented trade show.

The International Fastener Machinery & Suppliers Association chose to work with NIFS for 2011 instead of co-locating its International Fastener & Precision Formed Parts Manufacturing Exposition (IFE) trade show with Interwire in Atlanta. IFE was co-located with Interwire in Cleveland in 2009, where the number of exhibiting companies dropped to 57 from 100 in 2007.

In Las Vegas the machinery section is part of NIFS/West. The IFE name goes in “hiatus” for 2011.

NIFS management had termed the booth sales arrangement as a “merger,” but there is no ownership change for either NIFS or IFE.

The next NIFS/West is November 8-10, 2010 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. For 2011 NIFS/West will move to the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas for an October 19-21 trade show.

This year IFMSA is meeting in conjunction with the Wire 2010/International Wire & Cable Trade Fair April 12-16 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Metal Coatings International introduced a new finish for corrosion protection to ferrous metals and powdered metal parts for the automotive, construction and wind energy markets.

Development of Geomet 321 grew out of the European End-of-Life Scrap Vehicle Directive, which banned hexavalent chromium in automotive applications by July 2003. Metal Coatings’ Geomet finish met the deadline a year early. When Europe extended the deadline to 2007, NOF Metal Coatings Group members developed an improved formula – Geomet 321.

Geomet 321 is a chromium-free, water-based coating, containing metallic zinc and aluminum flakes. The zinc and aluminum platelets align in multiple layers forming a metallic silver film.

Metal Coatings, part of NOF Metal Coatings Group, develops and manufactures proprietary corrosion resistant coatings, sealers and topcoats.
