Anixter International relocated its Connecticut cable-distribution business from Manchester, CT, to South Windsor, the Journal Inquirer reports.
“We were bursting at the seams,” vice president of finance Ron Bosco said of the former 36,000 sq ft location in Manchester.
Founded in 1957, Anixter is an Illinois-headquartered global supplier of fasteners, communication and security products, electrical and other small components.

Carlo Salvi S.p.A. is marking the 75th anniversary of its founding in 1939 by Carlo Salvi. Born in New York in 1907, Salvi returned to his family’s native Italy when he was eight. Salvi started building mechanical descalers to process hot rolled rod and subsequently several thousand have been sold worldwide. Salvi began manufacturing more complex machines during late 1940s with the design and production of a flat die thread roller. Head slotters followed and in 1952 Salvi built his first single die two blow toggle header.
Today, Carlo Salvi reports 3,000 cold headers are installed throughout the world.

HellermannTyton will more than double the size of its Wisconsin plant with a $741,000 federal grant, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported.
The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services grant will help finance a 102,000 sq ft addition to its 92,000 sq ft facility at 6701 W. Good Hope Rd. in Milwaukee. The expansion is expected to create 125 jobs in the next five years.
The manufacturer “first bought an existing industrial building there in 2012, but has already outgrown the space,” writes Sean Ryan of the Journal.
The facility earned LEED Silver certification for including self-sustaining landscape planning, exterior lighting which reduces light pollution and use of low volatile organic compound (VOC) emitting building materials.

MSC Industrial Supply Co. is opening a 400,000 sq ft distribution center in Columbus, OH, according to Columbus Business First. The $55 million facility is the company’s fifth U.S. location.
MSC will employ 100 upon opening and increase employment to 300 over the next four years, as part of $9 million in state and city tax incentives, Columbus Business First reports.
