Birmingham Fastener Group promoted Jerry Warren to corporate purchasing manager and Tony Nelson to purchasing manager of the Birmingham Fastener Distribution.  

Warren has been with the company for 25 years, including Birmingham Distribution. 

Nelson has 21 years of fastener experience with Flexalloy, Fastener Supply Company and Martin Fastening Solutions.

Salvatore Freda Jr. has started overseeing day-to-day operations of William H. Brewster, Jr., Inc.

Founded in 1919 by William Brewster in Newark, NJ, the company initially manufactured tools, dies, jig fixtures and metal stampings. Bill Brewster was a tool and die maker, and he trained his daughters – Katherine Brewster and Marguerite Brewster – in manufacturing precision round washers and shims.

After Bill Brewster’s death in 1958, the company moved to Fairfield, NJ, and the daughters shared management. Upon their deaths, the daughters were succeeded by Salvatore Freda Sr., a member of the Brewster team since 1952.

Brewster-Washers manufactures precision washers, shims and discs meeting AS 9100, MIL-I-45208A & MIL-STD-45662 standards. 

“Our round washers, shims and discs are utilized as parts in everything from computers, motors, dental tools, the Space Shuttle and the Mars Lunar Rover to name a few,” the company said.

Dokka Fasteners Norway and Dokka Fasteners US launched an updated website at dokkafasteners.com.

The website updates markets, product line, contact information and history and the company’s quick turnaround “Fast Track” manufacturing process in Norway.

Dokka CEO Marc Strandquist said the goal of the revised website is “to create not only a progressive look, but to create a vehicle for our customers, our suppliers, our potential employees and visitors to have easy access to information and reference materials that tell the Dokka story.”

North East Fasteners Corp. is adding two precision cold headers in addition to four recently installed machines.

UK fastener manufacturer Stainless Steel Fasteners Ltd. received NORSOK M-650 accreditation, AZoM.com reports.  NORSOK M-650 is an oil and gas industry quality standard for suppliers of special materials.

SSF was qualified for hot forging super duplex stainless steel fasteners. The company reports a 30% order increase from energy companies.

“Our hot forging process for super duplex steel has overcome a major industry issue and enables us to supply fastening products that are guaranteed to perform to specification in critical applications,” stated SSF operations manager Matthew Tongue.
