Allfast Fastening Systems received the 2012 Boeing Performance Excellence Award, Allfast president Jim Randall announced. Boeing issues the award annually to recognize suppliers who have achieved superior quality and delivery performance.
Previous Allfast awards from customers include the Boeing President’s Award, a strategic partnership with EADS-Airbus Industries, the Embraer Supplier of the Year Award, Lockheed’s Star Supplier, and the Bombardier VIP.

For the second time in four years, Bossard North America was recognized by the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program for 2012 as a Partner-level supplier — highest supplier rating.

EFC International opened a branch office and warehouse in Phoenix, AZ, to serve customers in the American West and Mexico.
“This added strategic location ensures personal support to EFC’s customers, including enhancing the value we give to the VMI distributor customers as EFC does not do VMI programs – we are their source, not their competitor,” stated owner and CEO Doug Adams. “EFC continues to invest in people and facilities to support its growth.”
EFC’s Western regional sales manager Rick Gourley oversees the Phoenix branch. Gourley started with EFC in 2012, with years of fastener industry experience with TRW, ITW Deltar, and Emhart.

Hahn Systems LLC will expand its Indianapolis headquarters and add 20 jobs by 2016.
Hahn will invest $900,000 to purchase and equip a 27,000 sq ft facility to house its Southeastern Supply Co. division. Hahn acquired SESCO in 2012.
The new facility is slated to open in June 2013.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation is providing Hahn Systems up to $140,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $20,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. Hahn is not eligible to claim the incentives until the company hires new employees.
The city of Indianapolis approved additional tax abatement at the request of Develop Indy.
“SESCO will be increasing its office and warehouse capacity by more than 70% and will look to hire additional personnel to keep pace with forecasted revenue increases,” Hahn president Scott Brown told Fox Channel 59. “We feel this is an ideal time to be investing in Indiana for the long term and are thankful for the state and local assistance required to make this investment a reality.”
Doug Hahn was the 2006 president of the Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association.

North East Fasteners Corp. is adding two precision cold headers in addition to four recently installed machines.
“It is NEF’s intention to better lead times as well as open up a more flexible scheduling system for our customers,” president Eric Webster said.
NEF has well over 70 production machines producing an average of 1.6 million high quality fasteners per day.
Webster announced NEF sold its Chinese affiliation, Ningbo Wili Precision Fasteners Co. Ltd., effective at the end of 2012.

Smith Fastener Co. broke ground on a new facility in West Virginia.
“The company plans to move its 41 employees and its nuts-and-bolts distribution center from the eastern edge of Kanawha City” — where it has operated since 1971 — “to a lot near the former FMC hydrogen peroxide plant and the fly ash pond,” the Charleston Daily Mail reports.
Smith Fastener reportedly paid $1.1 million for 9.5 acres of land in the South Charleston Industrial Park in August 2012.
“We’re still in the design stage for a building and hope to have that completed in the next four or five weeks,” president Jim Smith told the Daily Mail.
