Aerospace mil-spec hardware distributor E.C.A.S. Inc. plans to open a Las Vegas distribution center on Jan. 3, 2012, Aviation International News reports. 

Melbourne, FL-based E.C.A.S. maintains stock of AN, MS and NAS fasteners and O-rings, including a large inventory of Cherry rivets, Hi-Loks, Camlocs and Dzus fasteners, along with electrical components for aerospace applications. 

The company said the new distribution facility will provide West Coast clients with the same level of service enjoyed by customers of the current E.C.A.S. Melbourne center.

The Hillman Group realigned the company’s executive team structure, including a promotion to fill a newly created Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer position. 

Jim Waters has been promoted from CFO and Secretary to Executive Vice President and COO. Waters joined Hillman in September 1999 as CFO, and has served in that capacity through a period of extensive growth at the company, including six acquisitions, improvement in market penetration and international expansion.

Leland Powell President Mark McCullough specifically identified employees Mark Allen and Carey Adams as key participants in the success of the project, in which Leland Powell developed and produced a new Double Sems Head Bolt deemed critical to the success of the Briggs & Stratton lawn mower engine.

Executives from Frankfort, IN-based LEP Special Fasteners Inc. announced plans to relocate parts of its operations from Illinois to Indiana, creating up to 160 new jobs by 2015.

LEP — a subsidiary of Italian-based Fontana Fasteners Group — said it will relocate parts of its management, sales and distribution functions of Fontana America Inc. and Fontana USA Inc. from Elgin, IL, to Frankfort and expand and equip its current facility by 250,000 sq ft. This expansion will more than double the existing capacity at the manufacturing plant.

LEP currently employs 190 full-time employees in Indiana, with plans to begin the initial hiring process for new administrative, management, sales and distribution associates in November.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered the specialty steel fastener producer up to $3 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $200,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. Clinton County has approved additional tax abatement.
