Falcon Fastening Solutions named Craig Jones as account manager for the Kentucky branch. He will manage inventory programs and quoting, purchasing and inventory for customers.
“He has worked in every aspect of distribution from outside sales to purchasing and operations management,” Falcon VP Giovanni Cespedes noted.
For 2014, Falcon saw an average customer savings of 16% through its VMI programs for OEMs.
“The direct acquisition cost, or piece price, of any component only accounts for 15% of the total cost of ownership,” Falcon owner/president Don Nowak said. “The other 85% of TCO is tied up in hidden costs like labor, freight, inventory-carrying costs, error-related costs, safety stock, and so on.”
For 2014, Falcon reported an average 3% savings on labor-related costs; 4% on freight-related costs and error-related costs; 3% on inventory carrying costs; and an additional 2% of the average total cost savings.
Falcon also has a 99.9% quality rating and 99.1% on-time delivery.

Hillman Companies named Jeffrey Leonard its CFO.
Leonard, 47, has been involved with mergers and acquisitions, strategic business development, and building financial teams throughout his career. Former roles include CFO of $1.6 billion private equity company Baker & Taylor and VP of operations finance for HD Supply.
Founded in 1964, Hillman supplies commercial and residential products for the hardware and home improvement industry.

The Rockford Chamber of Commerce presented its manufacturer of the year award to J&M Plating Inc. for investing in technology to expand into new markets. J&M provides heat treating, plating and sorting and is headed by president Mark Morris.

Stefan Szczurek is the new director of European licensing for Phillips Screw Co., said global licensing president Mike Mowins.
Szczurek was with SPS Technologies for 35 years. His last position was SPS technical liaison with Precision Castparts. He will be based in Leicester, UK.

SBS Industries is expanding its Oklahoma facilities to 82,000 sq ft to consolidate its Tulsa distribution, packaging and assembly centers two blocks from its headquarters.
