Kevin Godin is the new president of General Fasteners Company. He succeeds Tim Farrell, who is retiring after serving as president since 2002.
Godin joined GenFast in 2005. As COO, he was responsible for GenFast’s U.S. and Mexico companies, which have 220 employees and supply 30 major customers.

Hudson Fasteners Inc. launched a B2B commerce website at 1IndustrialWay.com. The new website “re-brands” HudsonFasteners.com.
The “13 Forces Product Genius” industrial network website is designed to “streamline, simplify and expedite” fastener and industrial supply ordering. Hudson describes the website as a “natural progression of the big industrial supply catalogs.”
The website announcement indicates the Ohio distributorship is for sale.
“They’ve brought a truly differentiated product to market that solves a huge problem in the industry, and they command an enormous social media presence to garner fast adoption … Hudson Fasteners is ripe for investment,” said Gene Groys of the Youngstown Business Incubator.

Japanese car parts moulder Nifco expanded a plant in Poland to produce more automotive fasteners, dampers, interior trim items, buckles and console components. Nifco Poland will increase its product range and add new technologies.
Nifco Poland is in the southwestern city of Swidnica, which is in the Wałbrzyska special economic zone.
“This facility is not only a typical production hall, it is also where we will introduce new production technologies, we will … be able to produce a new range of components,” WSEZ quoted Nifco Poland CEO Siegfired Baier.
Upon completion, employment increases from 400 to 450 employees.

Nucor Fastener named Mike Veech as sales manager.
Veech started his career with Nucor in 2014 as a district sales manager for the sheet mill group in the Midwest. Prior to Nucor, he worked at Gallatin Steel as a regional sales manager focused on the structural, mechanical and OCTG pipe and tube market.
In addition, he worked at ITW for 17 years, as Engineered Fastening Systems Manager for ITW Paslode from 1997 to 2013.
Veech replaces Christopher Gasser, who took over the position in May 2013.
Veech holds a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee.

PennEngineering named Pete Beecherl to the newly created role of VP of global automotive. Beecherl will lead initiatives for automotive-related brands and businesses.
Beecherl was VP of engineering /business development at Acument Global Technologies, and previously held senior roles for Emhart Teknologies, Textron Fastening Systems and Avdel. He has a B.A. in mechanical engineering from General Motors Engineering & Management Institute and a master’s in engineering from University of Michigan.
Beecherl will maintain offices at PennEngineering in Pennsylvania and at PEAF in Michigan.

Wesco Aircraft appointed Richard Weller as CFO. He succeeds Gregory Hann, who retired on March 31.
K. Lynn Mackison, who is serving as acting CFO in the interim period, will continue as VP and global controller, a position she has held since January 2015.
