SHOW NEWS: 2006 STAFDA Sets Records

With 6,114 attendees and 933 booths, the 30th annual Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association was the association’s largest trade show.\
The convention was held November 13-15 in Las Vegas.
The previous records were 4,838 attendance and 815 booths, both set in 2005 in Baltimore.
STAFDA attendees pick up badges at the show, allowing an actual count of those attending instead of total registration.
Board members beginning three-year terms are: Bobby Williams, United Tool & Fastener, Houston; Brian Hoekman, Dee & Bee Fasteners, Lombard, IL; and Marla Endicott, Precision Tool & Construction Supply, Tucson, AZ.
New manufacturer liaison committee members are: Brian Fortner, Lackmond Products, Kennesaw, GA; Chris Prentice, Green Bull, Louisville, KY; Warren Schade, Coleman Cable, Waukegan, IL; and Cliff Wells, Ridge Tool Co., Elyria, OH.
New rep liaison committee members are: Vinny Matteis, Amval Associates, Lyndonville, VT; and Jim Surpless Jr., Surpless, Dunn & Co., Chicago.
Greg Drouillard was previously announced as the new STAFDA president. Drouillard is the second-generation president of Target Building Materials in Windsor, Ontario.
The new vice president is Rick Peterson of Seattle-based All-West Fasteners. Peterson helped found the regional distributor of electronic hardware and components 28 years ago.
