SHOW NEWS – FTI Plans 2 Programs in Columbus; Booth Sales Remain Below 2010 

The Fastener Training Institute is slated to present a seminar on “Understanding the Bolted Joint” plus a fastener technology workshop in conjunction with the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo/East.
 

The trade show and conferences are scheduled for April 26-27, 2011, in Columbus, OH.
 

Also slated to speak is Rob Lucas on “Current Market Overview; Domestic & Overseas.” Lucas owns the Hong Kong-based importing firm Fidelis Fasteners Ltd., and is a partner with NIFMSE co-owner Mike McGuire in Global Fastener Network.
 

Metric Fastener Corp. is hosting a tour of its new 60,000 sq ft Columbus warehouse. Women in the Fastener Industry also has a meeting scheduled.
 

The conference sessions and opening reception will be on Tuesday and the trade show on Wednesday.
 

As of March 1, NIFMSE listed 49 exhibiting companies totaling 51 booths on their website for the April show. A February 28 news release stated there were 52 companies totaling 58 booths.
 

There were 74 booths at the 2010 East show.
 

The Columbus record is 653 booths in 1998.  The East show has averaged 205 booths since 2000.
 

This year the show downsized from the full Greater Columbus Convention Center to Battelle Hall North, which has capacity for 105 booths plus 73 on the mezzanine level.
