SHOW NEWS: NIFS/East Moves to Baltimore for 2005
John Wolz
Show management confirmed that the National Industrial Fastener Show/East will move to Baltimore for 2005.
It will be the 25th anniversary of the NIFS/East show. It was held in Columbus, OH, for 22 years and moved to Orlando, FL, for 2003 and 2004.
The trade show is slated for Friday, May 6, 2005, at the Baltimore Convention Center. Conferences and an opening reception are scheduled for Thursday.
We are confident our exhibitors and show visitors will like Baltimore, general manager Gloria Crase remarked. It is a fun city with plenty to do, the Inner Harbor is a happening place, and the location is so convenient for travel by air and rail.
Show promoters Jim Bannister and Mike McGuire noted Baltimores proximity to two-thirds of the nations population.
NIFS/East faces new competition in 2005. The Industrial Fasteners Institute, the International Fastener Machinery Association and the Mid-West Fastener Association (formerly Chicago Bolt, Nut & Screw Association) are sponsoring Fastener Week 2005 in Chicago.
Fastener Week includes co-located manufacturing and distribution trade shows, luncheon with keynote speaker, conferences and the 53rd annual CBNSA Scholarship Golf Outing. Fastener Week is scheduled June 6-9, 2005, at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, near Chicagos OHare International Airport.
