SHOW NEWS: NIFS/West, Fastener & Wire Korea
Darling, Speck, Vertullo & Factory Tour Featured at 2009 NIFS/West
Jim Speck of Johnson Gage Co., Bruce Darling of Porteous Fastener Co. and Carmen Vertullo of SimplyBetter will lead conferences at the 2009 National Industrial Fastener Show/West.
Vegas Fastener Manufacturing will offer free morning and afternoon plant tours Monday for a total of 100 NIFS participants.
The 13th annual NIFS/West will be November 16-18, 2009 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Conferences and an opening reception will be on Monday and exhibits from 9 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
• Engineer Speck will present a full day “Application Engineering Workshop” on Monday.
• The Pac-West Fastener Association – formerly Western Association of Fastener Distributors – will present a panel discussion on “The Effects of the Recession on Global Fastener Markets,” led by Darling. The PacWest program is at 2 p.m. Monday.
• Vertullo will present the Fastener Training Institute’s full day class on “Fastener Quality Assurance: Print Reading & Inspection.” The class is part of FTI’s Certified Fastener Specialist program.
• The ASTM F16.96 subcommittee on Bolting Technology will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday.
• The Finance Industry Group Network and the Wisconsin office of Business Credit Management Association will present a full day program for finance representatives from exhibiting companies.
The opening reception will be from 6 to 7 p.m.
Show management lists 441 exhibiting companies for the 2009 show as of August 4. By show time in 2008 there were 633 companies totaling 819 booths at show time.
