SHOW NEWS: NIFS/West Reports 2010 Early Registration Pace Up From 2009
The National Industrial Fastener Show/West reported early registration is exceeding the 2009 pace. At 690 the number of booths for 2010 already tops the 602 for 2009.
NIFS/West opens on Monday, November 8, 2010, with conferences and an opening reception at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The trade show is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Registration supervisor Denise Hill reported the latest total of 1,878 persons, inclu ding 523 fastener distributors.
Last year’s post-show total was 2,058, which was down 16.3% from 2,460 in 2008. The final distributor total for 2009 was 1,052.
The NIFS registration record is 3,341 in 1996 in Columbus, OH.
Hill predicted “upwards of 2,000 attendees by show time next month.”
Show manager Susan Hurley reported 567 companies have booked 690 booths.
There were 602 booths in 2009, 818 in 2008 and a record 829 in 2007.
“We hope to have 700 booths and believe this is very realistic. Our exhibit space sales are up nearly 13% from 2009 and we feel this is a positive sign for the fastener industry,” Hurley said. Web: fastenershows.com ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
