European, Asian Shows To Cooperate
KlnMesse and the China International Hardware Show announced a cooperative agreement to organize Practical World Asia 2003.
The new Asian show will be held September 27-29, 2003, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, as part of the CIHS/Shanghai.
KlnMesse and CIHS will cooperate on contacts and international development of the shows.
The China National Hardware Association organized CIHS in 1991. According to the show promoters, CIHS drew more than 300 exhibitors and 15,000 visitors in 2002. Products included fastening technology, hardware, tools and security systems,
Those products correspond to Practical World in Kln (Cologne), Germany. Practical World was previously known as the International Hardware Fair / DIY TEC.
According to show management numbers, the German show may draw more fastener companies than any other event. The next show will be March 9-12, 2003, in Kln.

Despite that concern, organizers called the show a success. The event was held Sept. 25-26 at the Parc des Expositions. Exhibitors included BTS GmbH of Germany; Fastenex SL of Spain; Kendrion Fastening from Sweden; Schafer & Peters of Germany; LLS of Italy; Nestinox BV of Holland; and Stockview Europe from the Netherlands.
