John Satagaj, president of the Small Business Legislative Council, will give an update on current legislation during the 27th annual Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association convention.
Overcoming price objections, managing todays workforce, marketing to the Hispanic population, increasing showroom excitement, stopping memory loss and a rep-specific workshop are topics at the November 2-4, 2003, STAFDA convention at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Workshops are: psychologist Bill Cone of Sound Minds Institute, Stop Memory Loss; Natan Feldman of Bravo Bi-Lingual Services, Cultural Awareness: Marketing to the Hispanic & Latino Populations; Greg Gorman, GMB Design Inc., Increasing Your Showrooms Visual Excitement; consultant John Haskell, aka Dr. Revenue, Prescriptions for Rep Marketing Success; Tom Reilly of Tom Reilly Training, Crush Price Objections; and Bob Wendover, Center for Generational Studies, From Ricky & Lucy to Beavis & Butthead: Managing the New Workforce.
STAFDA previously announced that Frank Abagnale, the subject of Steven Spielbergs Catch Me If You Can movie, will be the keynote speaker; Kim Reynolds of M.K. Morse Co. will give the associate State-of-the-Industry address: and STAFDA president Jason Bader of Acme Construction Supply will give the State-of-Distribution address.
Abagnales autobiography tells how he became a millionaire by age 21 using dubious means including impersonating a pediatric doctor, an attorney, a sociology professor, a stockbroker and an FBI agent.
Abagnale cashed $4 million in fraudulent checks and was the youngest person to make the FBIs 10 Most Wanted List. He was imprisoned in U.S., French and Swedish prisons before being released in 1974 and on parole until 1981. Abagnale, 54, also made restitution.
Abagnale is now an authority on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents. More than 14,000 financial institutions have sent employees to his fraud prevention workshops.
