Six of Eight Key Numbers Edge Up for 2014 NIFMSE

Six of eight key numbers were up for the 2014 National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo – with increases ranging from .001% to 16.6%.

According to show management’s numbers, total registration rose just over half of one percent to 4,606 – a .006% increase of 29 people over 4,577 for the 2013 trade show.  The record remains 5,629 set at the 2007 trade show.

• The number of fastener and other product distributors reached 1,347 – or 17 more people than making it a 1.3% increase.  The record of 1,577 set in 2007 stands.

• The unofficial booth total was 822 – a record for the 34 years of the trade show.  Last year there were 794 booths after 770 in 2012.  The previous record was 821 in 2007.

• At 2,477 exhibit staff outnumbered all other categories combined with a total of 2,129. 

The 2014 exhibitor staff total was just three more than the 2,,474 of 2013 (or .001%).

• Total non-exhibitor registrants was 2,129 – ten below 2013. That is under half percent decline.

• The 2014 number of suppliers slipped to 446 – down 33 or 6.9% from 2013.

• The only major category slipping this were were suppliers at 446, compared with 479 registrations in 2013 or 6.9% down.  Suppliers include fastener manufacturers, other manufacturers, manufacture reps and master distributors.

• At 204 the number of independent sales reps registered rose 9.8% for 2014.  The 2013 number was 184.

• People representing various services in 2014 totaled 132 registrations – up 16.6% from 110 last year.

• There were registrants from 40 countries – edging up from 38 for 2013.

The NIFMSE numbers are total registration rather than actual attendance.  The statistics are prepared by Automated Registration Systems of New Albany, OH.  Show management provides a registration list to exhibitors.

This was the 34th year for NIFMSE, which was which was originally known as the National Industrial Fastener Show & Conference and was first held in June 1981 in Columbus, Ohio.

The next NIFMSE will be October 21-23, 2015, at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas.
