Southern, HTI & ND Students Win Gilchrist Scholarships

The Gilchrist Foundation has awarded three fastener scholarships for 2010.
Recipients from the National Fastener Distributors Association applicants are: Jessup Cooper, sponsored by Southern Fasteners & Supply, Winston-Salem, NC; and Steve Klecka, a Heads & Threads International employee in Chicago.
Thomas Pennington, sponsored by ND Industries, Charlotte, NC, is the recipient through the Southeastern Fastener Association.

Robbie Gilchrist and Gina Gilchrist established the Gilchrist Foundation Fastener Scholarship in 2000.
Gilchrist scholarship criteria requires that upon completion of schooling the applicant must make an effort to work in the fastener industry or be a current employee from an NFDA or SEFA member company. The Gilchrist scholarships are available to students from a NFDA or SEFA member company or that upon completion of schooling the applicant must make an effort to work in the Fastener Industry. Scholarhsips may be applied for during any year of a persons schooling.
Since 2000, the foundation has awarded scholarships to 32 applicants.
