Spring Auctions Slated for Manufacturers MRC/Michigan Rivet and Dolan

Auctions have been scheduled this spring for plants, machinery and equipment of two U.S. fastener manufacturers.
The Massachusetts cold forming plant, machinery and equipment of Dolan Industries Inc. will be auctioned on March 30, 2006 by BidItup Auctions & Appraisals Worldwide.
Cincinnati Industrial Auctioneers Inc. and BidItUp will conduct an auction of the cold forming machinery and the manufacturing plant of MRC Industrial Group on April 19-20, 2006, at the main manufacturing facility at 13201 Stephens Rd., Warren, MI. Inspection on April 18.
MRC Industrial Group / Michigan Rivet has ceased production and filed for bankruptcy. Cincinnati Industrial and Industrial Assets acquired the right from bankruptcy court to liquidate the assets.
Assets immediately available for sale include all intellectual property, business names and telephone numbers, website, technology and customer lists, job tooling & drawings, inventory and manufacturing plants in the Detroit suburb of Warren, MI, and the northern Michigan city of Petoskey.
The auction includes: National, Progressive, Nedschroff and Sakamura cold headers; nut tappers; thread rollers; inspection machines; packaging system; tool room; all intellectual property, including business name, telephone, website, technology & customer lists; and the 150,000 sq ft building in Warren and 56,000 sq ft manufacturing building in Petoskey.
Kermit Knuppenburg and Gino Giulioli founded Michigan Rivet Corporation in 1946 to manufacture hinge pins for the U.S. automotive industry. In 1956 Michigan Rivet expanded product lines to include special rivets, screws, bolts and related fasteners. In 1968 Michigan Rivet opened a subsidiary, Warren Wire Products Inc., to provide secondary machining operations. Pro Systems Inc. acquired Michigan Rivet in 1971.
Michigan Rivet expanded in 1975 with the purchase of the Warren plant. In 1982, Michigan Rivet purchased cold formed nuts and internally threaded fastener manufacturer McLaughlin Company.
In 2003, MRC Industrial Group Inc., a newly formed corporation headed by Steven Engelman, acquired Michigan Rivet and McLaughlin. In 2004 MRC moved into the global marketplace by opening a plant in Shanghai, China.

Dolan manufactured cold headed parts, metal fasteners and pins for 25 years in Clinton, MA. Machinery to be auctioned includes several multi-station Waterbury, Sakamura, Hatebur, Peltzer & Ehlers, National, Asahi Okuma and Nakashimada cold formers, Townsend shavers, thread rollers, laser inspection equipment, wire drawers, automatic washing system and a complete tool room with lathe, grinders and vertical mills.
Up to 86,836 sq ft of building on 1.98 acres is for sale or lease.
