Stainless Fastener Producers Allege Dumping from India and Malaysia
The European Industrial Fasteners Institute (EIFI) lodged a complaint with the European Commission alleging dumping of stainless steel fasteners by India and Malaysia.
“Since 2006 imports from (India and Malaysia) have increased dramatically and literally flooded the EU market in 2008, causing considerable injury to the European industries concerned,” claims EUROFER, the European steel makers association.
The new complaint has been lodged on behalf of a small number of major Italian producers, according to Fastener+Fixing Magazine.
If initiated, the tarifffs could cover wood screws, self tapping screws, socket screws and hexagon bolts and screws as well as other screws and bolts with various recesses and heads. ©2009 GlobalFastenerNews.com
