Stanley Engineered Fastening plans a $6 million expansion of its facility in Hopkinsville, KY, creating 49 “high-paying” jobs, WTVQ reports. The jobs will pay an average hourly wage of $34, including benefits.
“The company plans to add 30,000 sq ft to the existing 250,000 sq ft facility, allowing the operation to absorb another Stanley Engineered Fastening facility, grow the current business and expand into other products,” according to WTVQ.
The expansion, expected to be completed by July 2021, will increase the plant’s total employment to 205 workers.
“We are proud to call Hopkinsville home and look forward to deepening our roots in the Bluegrass State,” said Kent Shane, director of operations at Stanley Black & Decker.
Established in 1966, the Hopkinsville facility produces brackets, plugs, fasteners, inserts, bolts, nuts, rivets and screws.
The announcement comes weeks after news that Stanley Engineered Fastening will shutter its rivet factory in Stanfield, NC. The facility manufactures Avdel product, including rivets, lock bolts and engineered fasteners.
Stanley Engineered Fastening operates 37 plants around the world, including 15 in North America. Web: StanleyBlackandDecker.com
