Steel Wire Prices Rise As Fastener Orders Increase

Al killed steel wire finished products in Taiwan have increased to TWD 32,500 (US$997.85) per ton due to “strong growth on fastener orders from overseas markets,” Steel Guru reports.

The hike comes as China Steel Corp. struggles to meet domestic current demand for Al killed steel.

China Steel hiked Al Killed steel wire rod prices by TWD 300 (US$9.21) per ton.

The news comes weeks after Taiwan’s China Steel hinted at raising wire rod prices Taiwan$1,200 (US$37.60) to TWD1,500 (US$47.01) for July and August. The increase was attributed to the cost of raw materials. ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
