The 8th Fastener Fair Stuttgart drew 12,070 visitors from 90 countries  – up 3% from the 2017 biennial trade show in Germany.

A total of 987 exhibitors from 45 countries used a total net exhibition space of 22,200 square meters (239,000 sq ft).

Show management announced the number of exhibiting companies rose about 10% and total exhibit space about 5% – making 2019 the largest Fastener Fair Stuttgart.

Products included industrial fasteners and fixings, construction fixings, assembly and installation systems and fastener manufacturing technology.

“Fastener Fair Stuttgart 2019 was an absolute record event, in terms of exhibitor numbers and exhibition space as well as visitor numbers,” exhibition director Liljana Goszdziewski declared.

Goszdziewski noted that around 60% of visitors were from abroad.

According to preliminary results of a visitor survey, around 70% of visitors came from the EU. Germany was the biggest visitor country followed by Italy and Great Britain. Other major European visitor countries were Poland, France, the Netherlands, Turkey and Spain. Asian visitors mainly came from Taiwan and China.

The industry visitors included construction, automotive, distribution, mechanical engineering, hardware / DIY retailing and electrical products / domestic appliances. The majority of visitors were fastener and fixing wholesalers, manufacturers as well as distributors and suppliers.

A “Bonding & Adhesive Technology Area” was added for 2019. Exhibitors presented bonding and adhesive technologies, including for lightweight construction in various industries such as the automotive and electronics sectors.

During a ceremony on the second show day, Fastener + Fixing Magazine announced the winners of this year’s Fastener Innovator 2019: 1. TR Fastenings Ltd for its EPW thread-forming screw; 2. Ingramatic / Sacma Group, for its smallest reader inspired by its I-Thread concept, the micro threader model RP020; and 3. Growermetal Srl took third place for Grower TenKeep flat safety washers introduced at the show.
