Sundram Appoints Krishna As Managing Director

Arathi Krishna was appointed executive director of India-based Sundram Fasteners. Krishna, 38, holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and has served as part of Sundram’s management team since 1992. She is the daughter of Sundram chairman Suresh Krishna.
Sundram also appointed Karthik Narayanan as the eighth member of its board.
Sundram also announced plans to set up two new fastener facilities in India. One will be in Uttaranchal, northern India, to manufacture high tensile fasteners, powder metal parts, water and oil pumps. The second will be located near the company’s headquarters in Chennai and will focus on export oriented manufacturing.
Sundram made news in January by acquiring Textron Fastening Systems subsidiary Peiner Umformtechnick Gmbh in Germany. Peiner generates about 50 million (US$59.2 million) in annual revenue, employs a workforce of 325 and has annual capacity of 18,000 tons. �2006 FastenerNews.com
