Sundram Appoints New Director

India-based Sundram Fasteners Ltd. has appointed Arundathi Krishna as a director to the company’s board. Her appointment runs for five years. Arundathi Krishna is a daughter of company chairman and managing director Suresh Krishna.

In 2006 Suresh Krishna appointed his eldest daughter, Arathi Krishna, as executive director of India-based Sundram Fasteners. Arathi Krishna, 40, holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and has served as part of Sundram’s management team since 1992.

During the second quarter of 2008 Sundram sales rose 22% to 3.6 billion rupees (US$85.6 million), while net profit was cut by half, with income dropping 49.7% to 128.6 million rupees (US$3.03m).
