Sunset review of South African AD measures

The South African International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) has issued notice that antidumping duties applied in 2005 to bolts and nuts imported from People’s Republic of China and nuts imported from Taiwan applied in June 2005 will expire during 2010. Manufacturers or their representative bodies within the South African Customs Union have until 2 December 2009 to submit a ‘duly substantiated request’ indicating that the expiry would lead to the continuation of dumping or injury.

Standard duties on bolts and nuts imported to SACU are 10%. Current antidumping duties are: 36% on steel nuts from PR China; 29% on steel bolts from PR China; 23% on steel nuts from Taiwan. The sizes involved range from M6 up to and including M36 diameters. web: itac.org.za
