Taiwan Fastener Exports On Record Pace

Taiwan’s fastener exports jumped 14.7% year-on-year to 110,000 tons in November, with the average price of $2.69/kg, ChinaFastener.Info reports.

Those strong results helped push fastener exports from Taiwan up 4.9% to 1.32 million tons in the first 11 months of 2013, on pace to break its previous record of 1.42 million tons of fastener exports in 2011. So far in 2013 Taiwan’s fastener export value totals $3.49 billion, up 0.74% year on year, according to ChinaFastener.Info.

The uptick in exports is driven by recovery in the U.S. and EU economies, which is expected to continue in the coming months.

However, the average price slipped 4% to $2.65/kg in the 11-month period, according to ChinaFastener.Info.
