Taiwan fastener exports to the U.S. rose 19.6% to 348,811 kg in the first half of 2021 despite strong headwinds from global shipping bottlenecks, Fastener World reports. Exports to Japan dropped 6.3%, while exports to the UK jumped 43.6% and exports to China climbed 60.9%.

Export values rose during the period, climbing 29% globally to $2.45 billion. Export value to the U.S. gained 30% to $801.7 million, while the export value to Germany improved 22% to $160.2 million and the export value to the UK rose 55.6% to $90.3 million.

Taiwan fastener imports rose 25.2% to 10,249 kg in the first half of 2021, Fastener World reports.

Shipments from China jumped 46.6% to $16.8 billion during the first six months of 2021, while shipments from the Philippines soared 516% to $2.4 billion and shipments from Germany increased 60% to $6.75 billion, according to Fastener World.

First-half fastener shipments from the U.S. to Taiwan declined 4.4% to 180,012 kg, with the value gaining 31.8% to $16.8 billion.
