Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation announced that its domestic bar and rods prices would increase by NT$890/ton (US$27.85) or about 4.5% for March shipments.

CSC announced an average increase across its steel grades of 4.92%.

The steelmaker said that the increases reflected “surging steelmaking materials costs and stringent supply of iron ore, coking coal, and steel scrap as a result of global economic recovery, increasing steel production, and the severe cold weather in the Northern hemisphere.”©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
