Taiwan Subsidizes E-coating and Anti-Corrosion Technology for Fasteners
Bi-Mirth Corp., Modern Alloy Plating Technology (MAP) and Gelie Co. Ltd.received subsidies from the Taiwan Ministry of Economics to improve the technology of polymerization and joint engineering technology and adjust the conditions for drying in order to prevent the side thinning of electroplating layers, Fastener World reports.
The three companies undertook the project in order to produce more RoHS- and REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals)-compliant fasteners.
The businesses will integrate the technology of electroplating, chemical treatment, and non-hexavalent chromium surface treatment to achieve over 2,000 hours of antirust salt spray test.
Once the project is completed, the annual revenue of Modern Alloy from the surface treatment of will grow over NT$0.1 billion (US$3.2 million); the revenue of Gelie generated from electroplating will climb more than NT$25 million; and the revenue of Bi-Mirth generated from electroplating will increase NT$0.25 billion. ©2010 GlobalFastenerNews.com
